About Christine

I create abstract, mixed media works through an expanded practice of making that engages painting, material exploration, and sensory process.

The beauty of my art lies in its being more than decoration; it becomes a living presence within space. I create by attuning my senses and responding to what each piece wants to become, working from sensation and the conditions of each moment.

Each work unfolds in its own time. I move between immersion and distance, allowing space for the work to develop and settle, trusting the intelligence of colour, texture, and form.

This is a physical and sensory practice shaped by attention and emergence. The works hold memory, movement, and layered experience, formed through the act of making over time.

The intention is that they meet you where you are, inviting reflection, sensation, and a felt sense of aliveness. They are not just images, but works to be lived with.

Christine McArdle is an artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Her work captures the dynamics of colour, texture, and form through layered, abstract compositions, creating a visual language that communicates beyond words. Each piece is carefully developed, honouring its natural unfoldment.

Behind the scenes

A glimpse into the spaces and moments where my work comes to life, quiet studio corners, the unfolding of ideas, and the subtle ways the paintings find their place.
